Hey! My name is Mallory Mason (hence Mason jar ;)), I’m a student at the University of Georgia where I’m studying English, Writing, and Environmental Ethics. I’m passionate about cultivating community, sustainability, and learning how to become a better person to other people and the planet. I love making playlists on Spotify (I currently have over 130), being in nature, and laughing with my friends until my stomach hurts. I consider myself an ecofeminist, but to my friends, this label is just “hippy-dippy,” which I am fine with. I’ve always felt a connection to nature- specifically the sun- and have recently gotten my first tattoo, which was the sun, on my leg. I am also the perfect stereotype of a middle child and like to find myself in the background of everything I do. This makes writing a blog hard because there is no one else to stand behind, so I hope you bear with me in my attempt to stand alone because I’ll inevitably stumble.

I started this blog to talk about some of the ways I want to learn how to be a better human. While we are surrounded by screens, I want to know how the age of the internet is affecting us as humans, and how we can adapt and continue to move towards each other. One of my favorite things to be is a neighbor: taking each other’s trash out when you’re not home, coming over for dinner, and having late-night conversations on the porch. And thanks to the internet, pretty much everyone is my neighbor at this point and I want to know how to be a good neighbor to them.

I would be honored if you decided to join me in this journey of discovery.

Also, if you know where the quote on the front page comes from, we’ll be friends.
